Module 5
Globalization 3.0 is built around "the triple convergence."
Convergence One: Around 2000 the three
additional components that acted on the flatteners to create a new, flatter
global playing field by converge and working together. Several firms built
machines that would print, fax, scan, email, and copy. Convergence Two: New
technology and new ways of doing business, a new flat playing field, and people
adopted new habits, skills and processes. HP, Cisco and Nokia collaborated on
the camera phone that beamed the digital picture to an HP printer which then
prints them out. SW Airlines let people make reservations and print their own
boarding passes. Convergence Three: A
whole new group of people came out on the playing field China, India, and
former Soviet Union. China, India, Russia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, and
Central Asia brought new players to the game, people that had never been
allowed to compete and collaborate before because they lived in closed
economies. They added new brain power to the game and enhanced horizontal
collaboration across the world, they are smart, educated, and hard-working and
want the same standard of living that you do. Technology will literally
transform every aspect of business, every aspect of life and every aspect of
society. Technology will transform every aspect of business, life and society.
I had a hard time understanding what
happened in this, I don’t think there was an exploiter or an exploited with
India an Indiana. I think they both failed, they both lost. Indian consulting
firm won the contract to upgrade the unemployment department of the state of
Indiana.
Intellectual property
Intellectual Property is a legal term for
creations of the mind like discoveries and inventions; music, poetry, and other
artistic works. Intellectual property’s rights is an important assets for you
to have for your business. So when the system works, it can be an engine for creativity,
innovation and consumer protection. I think IP is very important because when
you create something it is yours it is your property just like your house or
car, and you deserve to get credit for it.
